Alugadda chips Potato Chips Aloo Chips

Method

Step 1

First Peal the potatoes and wash it cleanly.

Step 2

Later slice the potatoes to thin slices with the help of a chips slicer.

Step 3

Now take a big bowl add water and tbsp of fitkari / alum to it.

Step 4

Then put the sliced chips into this water and keep aside for around 15 to 20 minutes.

Step 5

Later wash the potatoes slices with some fresh water.

Step 6

Now take a large vessel add water, salt and boil it. Note: when the water starts boiling add the sliced potatoes to it.

Step 7

Close the vessel with a lid and allow them to boil for around 5 to 7 minutes. In between stir once or twice.( Note: Chips should not be over cooked)

Step 8

Note : To check whether potatoes are cooked or not take a chip out and try to cut the edge of it. If it cuts easily then they are ready.

Step 9

Later remove the boiled chips from the hot water and strain them.

Step 10

Now spread a plastic sheet and put the cooked chips on it and allow them to dry for at least two to three days in hot sun.

  • 1 tbl.sp of salt / or as per your taste
  • water
