capsicum rice recipe



Good Quality Basmati Rice – 1 Cup
Capsicums Finely Chopped – 1 ¼ cup ( all 3 colors together)
Garam Masala Powder –  1 Tablespoon
Onion – 1 Finely chopped.

For the seasoning

Oil -1 tablespoon
Mustard seeds – 1 Tablespoon

Preparation Methods

Wash and soak basmati rice for around 20 minutes of time, drain the water and cook the rice in such a way that each grain are separate. Keep it aside.

Finely chop capsicums into small strip sizes.

Heat a tablespoon of  sunflower oil, fry urad dal, coriander seeds, cumin seeds and red chilli. Grinder it to powder and keep it aside.

Method (Just 3 steps)

1. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, when they splutter, add finely chopped onions & saute till it turns transparent .

2. Now add the chopped capsicums, prepared masala powder, garam masala powder and salt needed. Saute on high flames till the capsicums are slightly cooked. Do not overcook as the capsicums should be crispy and not soggy.

3.Mix cooked rice gently, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot withraita or chips or any gravy.
