Easy Crumpets Recipe

 

Why buy your crumpets at the shop when you can make them at home?

Ingredients

  • 500 Grams of flour
  • 600 Millilitres (1 pint) of warm milk
  • 25 grams butter, melted
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 15 grams dried yeast
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Method

Step 1

Heat milk until just below boiling. Stir in sugar then allow to cool to lukewarm. Add yeast.

Step 2

Add butter and salt. Sprinkle in flour to make a think batter. Cover and allow to rise for 30 minutes.

Step 3

Drop spoonfuls of mixture onto a hot greased griddle and brown one side (about 5 minutes). Flip and do the same to the other side.
